Further Mwaura notified aspirants and participants that registration is now open and ongoing.

In April 2024, the ruling party held the first phase of the grassroots elections in Nairobi, Narok, West Pokot, Busia, Homa Bay, and Garissa Counties.

The party was then forced to postpone the grassroots elections indefinitely following the nationwide anti-government protests in June 2024 that were sparked by the controversial Finance Bill 2024.

“The National Election Board of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) hereby issues this formal notice regarding the grassroots election originally scheduled to occur on the 28th and 29th of June, 2024. Due to unavoidable circumstances, the Board has determined that it is necessary to postpone the aforementioned grassroots election” the party announced.
