The former premier held a luncheon with the leaders ahead of the Saturday, February 15 vote.

Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has been accompanied by notable leaders across the political divide ahead of the African Union Commission (AUC) elections in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. 

Through her Facebook page, Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga on Friday, February 14 revealed that the former premier held a luncheon with the leaders ahead of the Saturday, February 15 vote. 

"A luncheon for the Kenyan delegation with Baba ahead of tomorrow's crucial penultimate election for the AUC Chairpersonship. We remain hopeful and keep our fingers crossed for victory. Go, Baba, Go!" Wanga wrote.

Apart from Wanga, other notable governors who travelled to Ethiopia were Joseph Ole Lenku (Kajiado), Anyang' Nyong'o (Kisumu) and Abdullswamad Sherrif Nassir (Mombasa).

Senior leaders in Parliament including Senate Majority leader Aaron Cheruiyot and NA Minority leader Junet Mohamed were also present at the luncheon.

Also present were Likoni MP Mishi Mboko, Alego Usonga MP Samuel Atandi, Kisumu West MP Rosa Buyu, Dagoretti North MP Beatrice Elachi, Butere MP Tindi Mwale and Kasipul MP Charles Were.

Kabondo Kasipul MP Eve Obara, Migori Women Representative Fatuma Zainab and Homa Bay Woman Representative Joyce Atieno Bensuda were also in the delegation.

More MPs are expected to be in Ethiopia over the weekend. As revealed by NA Speaker Moses Wetang'ula over 40 MPs have revealed plans to be in Addis Ababa to support Raila.

President William Ruto is also in Ethiopia for the AU Summit and AUC elections.
