Nyeri Archbishop Anthony Muheria has called on the government to shift its focus from publicizing projects to delivering tangible results.
Speaking on Friday, February 21, Muheria urged leaders to prioritize action over rhetoric, emphasizing that governance should be about implementation rather than mere announcements.
“We have to stop advertising and act; the government seems to be constrained to advertisements of projects and plans. The government is not an advertising agency, it is an agency that implements actions.
"Stop advertising what we should do, we will do, we have done, and rather get people and experts that can deliver. How I wish we could shelve all these advertisements, noises, insults, and demeaning statements,” he said.

This comes about four months after the Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops (KCCB) called out the Ruto regime over its unfulfilled promises.
In a presser in November 2024, the KCCB expressed that the government had adopted a culture of lies given the numerous promises that were yet to be kept.
"The culture of lies is swiftly replacing the integrity and respect that Kenyans deserve. Basically, it is seen that the truth does not exist and if it does, it is what the government says," read the statement by the clergy in part.
The remarks sparked mixed reactions from political leaders including Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi who defended Ruto.
In a statement on November 14, Sudi, a close ally of Ruto singled out Muheria, accusing him of double speak.
According to Sudi, Meheria did not have the moral authority to call out the current administration given that he did not extend much criticism to the past administration.
"Muheria lacks the moral authority to criticise the current regime because he is akin to doublespeak. The cleric is on record for backing the past regime even when it was clear it had failed Kenyans and must be bold enough to steer away from tribal politics," the MP said.
