The Technical University of Kenya (TUK) has released an update for prospective students, outlining dates and details of the upcoming admissions for various cohorts.
In a statement on Thursday, March 20, the university said diploma students placed by the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) for the May 2025 intake are set to begin their programs on May 5.
“Diploma students placed by KUCCPS for the May 2025 intake will commence their programs on May 5, 2025. KUCCPS has announced that the application portal for this group will close today, March 20, 2025.
"Admission letters will be available for download once KUCCPS releases the final list of placed students. Students will receive SMS notifications once the list is finalized," the statement read.
For those admitted independently by the university, the May 2025 intake will also commence on May 5.

“Module II applicants admitted for the May 2025 intake will start classes on May 5, 2025. The admission process is still ongoing and will be conducted in batches as the application portal closes. Admission letters will be available for download once processing is complete for each batch," the statement added.
On the other hand, TUK confirmed that diploma graduates from the November 26, 2024 cohort transitioning to Bachelor of Technology programs will begin Semester 2 classes on April 14.

"Admission letters are now available for download, and students will receive SMS notifications from the Admissions Office," the statement further read.
This update comes two days after TUK announced the resumption of academic programmes following an agreement between the Universities Academic Staff Union (UASU) and the Kenya Universities Staff Union (KUSU) to suspend industrial action.
In a notice to students and members of staff, the university Vice-Chancellor Benedict Mutua stated that all students are required to return to their academic programmes starting Tuesday, March 18.
"All students are hereby recalled to resume academic programmes at the University, effective Tuesday, March 18, 2025," the statement read.
Regarding university examinations, the notice confirmed that diploma and undergraduate exams, previously scheduled for February 3–15 will now take place starting March 31.
"Diploma and undergraduate examinations, originally scheduled for February 3-15, 2025, will now commence on March 31, 2025, following a two-week revision period to ensure adequate preparation," the statement added.
