Mudimba passed away shortly after collapsing at his residence in Syokimau, Machakos County. 

Former KTN journalist Nick Mudimba tragically passed away on Sunday, March 23, after collapsing at his residence in Syokimau, Machakos County. 

His sudden death has sent shockwaves through the media fraternity and beyond, leaving colleagues, friends, and viewers mourning the loss of a dedicated professional.

According to reports, Mudimba had been battling health complications in the days leading up to his death and had been receiving treatment. 

Following the tragic news, fellow journalists and friends took to social media to share their condolences and memories of Mudimba.

Citizen TV news anchor Mashirima Kapombe expressed her sorrow writing, "Death, why are you so cruel? Eternal rest grant unto Nick Mudimba, oh Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen."

Kapombe's colleague Seth Olale reminisced about their last moments together, saying, "We were cracking jokes together at the AU Media Center in Addis Ababa. You assisted me in installing the latest Audio Sound Booth Recorder on my laptop. Rest in peace, my brother Nick Mudimba."

Mudimba's death comes three days after police officers launched investigations following the death of Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) reporter Fredrick Parsayo. 

In a statement on Friday, March 21, KBC said the reporter passed away on Friday at his home in Kinoo, Kikuyu Constituency.

“It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of our esteemed colleague, Fredrick Parsayo, who served as a reporter in the KBC Editorial Department. Fredrick sadly left us on Friday, 21st March 2025, under circumstances that are still being investigated, at his home in the Kinoo-Kikuyu Constituency. This unexpected loss has deeply affected us all,” read part of the statement.

KBC eulogized Parsayo as a cherished member of the editorial department whose absence will be felt by everyone who knew and worked alongside him.

“On behalf of the KBC Board of Directors, Management, and all our staff, we extend our sincerest condolences to Fredrick's family, friends, and all those impacted by his loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time,” KBC added.
