A football fan who attended the Kenya vs Gabon World Cup qualifiers match at Nyayo Stadium is counting losses after his vehicle was stolen.
According to the police report by the DCI dated Monday, March 24, the man had parked his vehicle by the roadside along Kisauni Road behind the Nairobi West Hospital at 3:40 pm.
The man then proceeded to the stadium to join other Kenyans in supporting the national team.
However, upon returning to the parking lot minutes past 7 pm, his silver Toyota IST was missing.
DCI added that the matter was reported to the police, with detectives being on the lookout for the stolen vehicle.

"Reporting at Akila Police Station in Lang'ata, the car owner indicated that he parked his Toyota IST registration number KBN 093B silver in colour at the said spot at 3:40 pm and proceeded to the fan-parked stadium for the World Cup Qualifiers showdown.
"Having provided sufficient proof of ownership of the vehicle to the police, the car has been circulated as stolen, with DCI Langata leading the investigation." read the report in part.
Theft of vehicles has been reported in parts of the country in recent months and years.
Notably, in a report by the Association of Kenya Insurers, 327 vehicles were stolen in 2024. Toyota also accounted for the most stolen vehicles at 54.91 per cent followed by Isuzu at 12.88 per cent.
