A lot of South Sudanese citizens based in the United States of America (USA) are staring at mass deportation after the declaration of their visas' revocation.
The US state secretary Marco Rubio declared in a tweet on Saturday, April 5, that all visas for the South Sudanese will be cancelled and new applications blocked going forward.
Rubio attributed the move to the political crisis in Juba and the supposed failure by President Salva Kiir's administration to incorporate citizens repatriated from the US.
"I am taking actions to revoke all visas held by South Sudanese passport holders and to restrict any further issuance to prevent entry into the United States, effective immediately, due to the failure of South Sudan's transitional government to accept the return of its repatriated citizens in a timely manner," Rubio said.
