Former Public Service CS Justin Muturi has revealed that the state has withdrawn his security detail.

Speaking to the media on Tuesday, April 8, the former CS noted that his bodyguards were withdrawn on Monday evening.

He lamented that the move was against the law, given that he was still entitled to a security detail, given that he served as a speaker of the National Assembly.

“My security detail was withdrawn last night at around 7:30 p.m. Two Police officers who were attached to me by virtue of my position as former Speaker of the National Assembly were told not to report on duty today,” he stated.

He expressed that the move to withdraw his security was an attempt to intimidate him, given his recent stand on the government and its policies.

Muturi was fired by President William Ruto in the latest Cabinet changes.

After his dismissal, Ruto explained that the decision to fire Muturi followed his move to abscond duty. Ruto stated that Muturi had failed to attend Cabinet meetings.

On his part, Muturi explained that he could not attend Cabinet meetings unless they discussed the abductions that were rampant in 2024.

"There is no doubt that I was sacked because of my stand on the abductions and extrajudicial killings and not because of the so-called absconding of cabinet meetings."

"If their intention is to silence me, they have dialed the wrong number for I will never tire of fighting for the rights of the People of Kenya," Muturi noted in a statement.
