DAP-K leader Eugine Wamalwa now says Generation Z (Gen Z) cannot alone remove the Kenya Kwanza government from power in the 2027 general elections.
Speaking on Monday, April 14, during an interview with NTV, Wamalwa said the Gen Zs will need to work with the older generation to form a strong combination that would beat President William Ruto in the 2027 polls.
“The Gen Zs have every reason to be cynical about some of us who have been in politics for long, but they say it takes a village to raise a child, so it will take the whole country and an intergenerational kind of partnership for us to rid this country of this corrupt regime. They cannot do it on their own, and we cannot do it on our own,” said Wamalwa.
He added, “Once we agree on that, then we should take this as a mission that we must take to save this country. If we want our country back, we must make sacrifices.”
At the same time, Wamalwa said the opposition coalition is ready to support a younger politician if he is the best candidate to face President Ruto in the 2027 polls.

“A time will come when we will agree on one candidate, this is how we are going to beat William Ruto, and if it turns out that one of the best candidates will be one of the youngest in our team, we will support him,” Wamalwa stated.
The DAP-K party leader further said they are assembling a powerful coalition that will give Ruto strong competition.
Wamalwa noted that their new coalition would be akin to the Narc coalition that rose to power in the 2002 general election.
“In 2027, we have learnt our lessons, we know that he will try to divide us, already there are those who are being promoted to go on their own, but we are assembling a team that will send Ruto home round one in August 2027,” Wamalwa added.
