The Media Council of Kenya (MCK) has invited members of the public to share their views on the proposed Code of Conduct for Media Practice, 2025.
In a statement on Tuesday, April 15, MCK noted that the proposed new code of conduct will replace the current code, which has been in place for 15 years.
The council noted that it developed the new code following a court directive to incorporate child protection regulations.
“The new code will replace the 15-year-old Code of Conduct for the Practice of Journalism in Kenya, following a court directive to develop a revised code incorporating child protection regulations,” read part of the MCK statement.
MCK mentioned that the court gave the directive after the Communications Authority’s Broadcast and Media Standard was declared unconstitutional.
