The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced a temporary traffic disruption along Mombasa Road near the Katani Road Junction, starting this weekend.
In a notice shared on Wednesday, April 16, KeNHA said the disruption will affect motorists using the Mombasa-bound lanes from Saturday, April 19, at 10PM to Sunday, July 20, at 6AM.
KeNHA stated that the disruption will allow for installation of the fabricated footbridge beams, which are essential for improving pedestrian safety along the busy highway.
"KeNHA advises motorists to follow the proposed traffic management plan below and cooperate with the police and traffic marshals on site," the notice read.

Elsewhere, KeNHA, in conjunction with the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA), recently announced a three-day nationwide campaign on the roads.
In a statement on Monday, April 14, KeNHA said the nationwide exercise centered on road safety will target two vehicles, including Public Service Vehicles (PSVs).
Other vehicles being targeted are Heavy Commercial Vehicles (HCVs).
KeNHA said that the exercise began on Monday and was kick-started in major parts of the country, adding that the campaign was necessary given the rise in accidents across the country.
"The exercise kicked off today in Eldoret and will continue in other parts of the country, including Malaba, Busia, Kisumu, Nyeri, and Meru.
"The campaign targets drivers of Heavy Commercial Vehicles (HCVs) and Public Service Vehicles (PSVs), aiming to engage high-risk road users, promote responsible behaviour, and enhance collaboration in the dissemination of road safety messages, in response to the recent rise in road crashes," the statement read in part.
