President William Ruto has gazetted the appointment of 2 new Cabinet Secretaries and 14 Principal Secretaries.
In a special gazette notice on Wednesday, April 16, Ruto appointed Geoffrey Ruku and Hanna Wendot Cheptumo as Public Service and Gender Cabinet Secretaries, respectively.
The President made the appointments of the two CSs following vetting and approval by the National Assembly.
Ruto pointed out that the appointments of CSs Ruku and Cheptumo will take effect on Thursday, April 17.
“In exercise of the powers conferred by Article 152 (2) of the Constitution of Kenya, I, William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces, appoint Hanna Wendo Cheptumo, Geoffrey K. Kiniga Ruku, to be Cabinet Secretaries of the Government of the Republic of Kenya, with effect from the 17th April, 2025,” the gazette notice read.

President Ruto also appointed 14 Principal Secretaries after they were approved by the National Assembly.
The 14 include; Jane Kere Imbunya, Regina Akoth Ombam, Cyrell Odeke Wanguda, Caroline Wanjira Kuruga, Fredrick Ouma Olaga, Ahmed Abdisalan Ibrahim, Judith Nayi Ramaita-Pareno and Boniface Barsisa Makokha.
Others are Shaukat Ali Abdulrazak, Stephen Isaboke, Michael Leansalon, Fikirini Jacobs Katoi Kahindi, Caren Ageng’o Achieng and Aden Abdi Milah,
The appointments of the 14 PSs also take effect on Thursday, April 17, 2025.
The new CSs and PSs are now set to be sworn into office at State House, Nairobi, before beginning their work.
