The Kenya Meteorological Department has issued a 7-day weather forecast indicating that much of the country will experience continued rainfall from April 22 to April 28, 2025.
In an update on Monday, April 21, Kenya Met indicated that several regions will see significant rainfall, with a few areas expected to receive intense downpours.
According to the agency, the heaviest amount of rainfall is expected in the Central Highlands, including Nairobi, as well as Western Kenya and areas around the Lake Victoria Basin.
Additionally, the Southeastern Lowlands and parts of the Central and South Rift Valley are also set to receive substantial rainfall.
The forecast further showed that North-Eastern Kenya, though typically drier, is also likely to receive scattered heavy showers.

While the rain dominates much of the country, temperatures are expected to rise in other areas.
The forecast suggests that daytime temperatures will soar above 30 degrees Celsius in the coastal region, as well as in parts of north-eastern and north-western Kenya.
Furthermore, isolated areas in Western Kenya may also experience similarly high temperatures during the day.
In contrast, nights will be much cooler in certain parts of the country.
The Central Highlands, Central Rift Valley, and the areas surrounding Mt. Kilimanjaro are expected to record minimum temperatures below 10 degrees Celsius.
