Police reported that the group refused to receive treatment and even burst into spiritual songs while at the hospital.

Police in Rongo rescued 57 people at the St Joseph Missions of Africa Church in Kochola village in a multi-agency operation.

According to a police report dated Monday, April 21, the raid was conducted on Sunday evening. During the search of the property, 57 individuals who appeared weak were rescued and taken to the hospital.

Police reported that the group refused to receive treatment and even burst into spiritual songs while at the hospital.

"The group was then escorted to Rongo Sub-County hospital for medical attention, but all of them flatly refused to be examined by medical officers and began to make noises and sing religious songs.

"When they persisted, the medical officers advised that the group should be removed from the hospital since they were disturbing the other patients at the facility. They were taken to the station to await further directives," read the OB report in part.
