Murang’a Senator Irungu Kang’ata has weighed in on recent remarks by a section of ODM leaders calling for civil servants to keep off politics, and concentrate on the delivery of their constitutional mandates.
In a tweet on Saturday night, Senator Kang’ata shared a video of Orengo castigating the violence witnessed during the recently concluded by-election, which he blamed on unidentified leaders in the government.
According to Senator Kang’ata, the video vindicates him and the sentiments he made in his BBI letter to President Uhuru Kenyatta.
“Dear Sen James Orengo, Herein below is your explosive public expose which reinforces themes in my candid letter that got me fired. I pray you remain safe and secure. Many laughed at me that time. But truth is now revealing.
“Ukiona cha mwenzao kikinyolewa, chako kitie maji. Handshake is now ending. I spoke in December vide my letter about the use of "hard power " in politics and many thought I was insane,” he tweeted.

Elsewhere, National Assembly Minority Whip Junet Mohammed on March 7, urged that the Head of State to exclude Interior PS Karanja Kibicho from the BBI train or risk it crumbling ahead of the referendum.
Junet tasked President Kenyatta to choose between ODM's input in trying to amend the constitution or oust Kibicho.
"If he must continue meddling in the work of the secretariat, if he must continue dictating how we work, if he is that indispensable, we will be left with no choice but to abandon the BBI. Kibicho is causing political constipation and we are not afraid to tell him that," Junet stated.
