Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua has pledged money to the tune of Ksh200 million towards members of the clergy.
The 2022 presidential hopeful stated that the money is to aid in administering their duties and financing their personal lives as well.
Gov Mutua met with members of the clergy on March 8, when he made a solemn promise to help them with several issues pertaining to their work and welfare.

The Maendeleo Chap Chap Leader vowed to have a line in the Social Welfare vote for funding for the development of religious centers.
"My plan is to have Ksh 200 million plus in the budget for religious organisations to write proposals for the funds for various needs including buildings and missionary work," Mutua assured.
He also promised to give water tanks to religious centres that have not yet received them.
The Machakos governor announced that he will hold regular meetings with the religious leaders at his office every two months.
For social wellbeing, Governor Mutua assured to engineer the establishment of a sacco to carter for the welfare of the clergy.
"...Special consideration for bursaries for the children of needy religious leaders," he assured.
The MCC Party leader vowed to include members of the clergy in his administration by offering them positions in his cabinet.
"Unity is critical and this comes with inclusion. I have requested them to give me names of religious leaders to appoint to various governments positions," Gov Mutua stated.
