Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi has called on Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna to tone down his criticism of ODM leaders who were recently appointed to government.
Speaking during the burial of Kasipul MP Charles Were on Friday, May 9, Mbadi expressed that he was still a member of ODM despite being appointed to government.
Therefore, he explained that it would be beneficial for ODM if the party members supported them in their work.
Mbadi noted that there was no way ODM would get elected to government if party members elected to government fail in their duty.

"My brother Sifuna, please, I am a member of your party. I do not belong to any other party. If I fail, there is no way you shall convince people that can run a government," he stated.
The remarks by Mbadi came after he was criticised by Sifuna for failing to appear before the Senate.
“For as long as I remain the senator of Nairobi, and the oath that I took on the first day that I came to this house, there is not going to be a minister that we are going to protect or babysit," the Senator remarked.
"It doesn’t matter whether they come from ODM or wherever. They are there to serve the public.”
Sifuna has faced criticism in recent months over remarks he has made against the government. According to Sifuna, he does not recognise the broad-based government.
He maintained that the ODM leaders appointed are serving the Kenya Kwanza administration. He added that ODM did not enter into a coalition with UDA.
