Deputy President Kithure Kindiki on Saturday May 10 lectured Public Service cabinet Secretary Geoffrey Ruku against complaining over government projects.
Speaking during a consultative meeting in Siakago, Mbeere North, Embu County, Kindiki told Ruku that he was no longer a member of parliament.
DP Kindiki urged Ruku to use his role as CS and connections in the Cabinet to push for development projects in Embu County.
“Now you are no longer a member of Parliament, you are a Cabinet Secretary. That matter you told me, we are going to push it together. You are not an MP to say ‘oh, the government..., the government is you.’ We sit with you in the Cabinet, which is the highest decision-making body in the country, and the Chairman is the President, and his right-hand man is me,” Kindiki stated.
He added, “You cannot be a Cabinet Secretary and, instead of helping the public understand what the government has accomplished and help the people where projects have stalled to ensure they get what they need, you come here to cry, incite, and complain. That is unacceptable. If you’re here to complain, you're out. If you’ve failed to represent the people, you're out. But if you're ready to stand up for the people of Mbeere and push for development, then you're in.”

DP Kindiki was responding after CS Ruku implored him to push for the tarmacking of a certain road project in Mbeere North.
The Public Service CS noted that elders in the area had made a request to him for the project to be done within a year.
"Your Excellency, the elders are also requesting that the Gekuyati–Momenje–Kerir–Ishiara road be considered for tarmacking this year, “ Ruku stated.
Ruku was appointed as the Public CS by President Ruto on April 17, replacing Justin Muturi, who was fired.
He was sworn into office at State House Nairobi, together with Gender CS Hanna Cheptumo.
