"Please note that traffic on the underpass and the Nairobi-Nakuru Highway will not be affected. Apologies for the inconvenience caused, and thank you for choosing the Nairobi Expressway," read the statement in part.

The closure is expected to increase the number of vehicles that use the underpass, and this could lead to a traffic jam in the area.

Earlier, the Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KeRRA) also announced the closure of sections of the Ngong-Suswa road.

“We wish to notify the general public that the section of the Ngong–Suswa Road between Km 0+000 (Matonyok) and Km 2+600 (Junction to KIBHT) will be closed to all traffic as follows.
