Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has teased over a debate that ensued at his Wamunyoro village after the launch of the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP).
In a statement dated Friday, May 16, the former DP attributed the debate to the party symbol, with many wondering whether it was the left or right ear.
Following the escalation of the debate, he noted that the elders summoned him to clear the air on the party symbol.
"The elders, afraid of further escalation into the weekend, summoned me at night on a diplomatic mission and clarification," he stated.

"In the esteem I hold my elders, and the listening Philosophy of our Party, I have this morning, in the company of Hon. Njeri Maina and Hon. Mathenge, met the representatives of the village and clarified that it is the right ear."
Gachagua launched his party and his headquarters on Thursday in Nairobi after months of consultation.
The DCP party is dominated by the theme colours of green, red, white and black.
To demonstrate the party slogan of 'Skiza Wakenya (Listen to Kenyans), the party symbol is of someone holding their ear.
"I made a promise to you that in the month of May, I would unveil a new political party whose philosophy resonates with you. As you all know, I'm a truthful and honest man; I keep my promises.
"We finally have a political party that belongs to all of us, where every Kenyan is treated equally," he remarked.
