Kenya Power has announced planned outages in several counties on Tuesday, May 20, to carry out maintenance works.
The scheduled power interruptions will affect parts of Nakuru, Uasin Gishu, Murang’a, Kitui, Vihiga, and Homa Bay counties.
In Nakuru County, the affected areas include Kabarak University and its environs.
The scheduled outage will take place from 9 AM to 3 PM, impacting Kabarak Guest House, Kabarak High School, Kabarak Bakery, Lower Mangu, Lengenet, Muricho, Lusaka, Shalom A, Ngesumin, and surrounding customers.
In Uasin Gishu County, power will be interrupted from 8 AM to 5 PM in Lugari Station and Mufutu areas.

Institutions such as Lugari Boys’, as well as neighborhoods including Mukhuyu, Lunyito, and Frank, will also be affected, along with adjacent customers.

Murang’a County will also experience a power disruption in Sabasaba and Githembwe areas between 9 AM and 5 PM.
Areas set to be affected include Kamahuha Girls, Shangai, Sabasaba Market, Githembwe Market, Sabasaba Water, Gathuri Primary, and nearby customers.
In Kitui County, the outage will cover Kitooni Market and its surrounding localities from 9 AM to 5 PM.
Kitooni, Kanyangii, Ilengi, Nzambia, Kangukangu Water, Kanyongonyo, and Kanyangii Borehole will be impacted.
Meanwhile, Vihiga County will see a longer outage stretching from 8 AM to 5 PM in the Sabatia area, with localities such as Busweta, Chamakanga, and Busali Union affected.
Elunyu, Mululu, Bigina, Wangulu, Mukenye, Vokoli Girls, Naftali, Kwa Shem, Gilagiru, Mudungu, Nabwami, Gaumbwa, Weng’ondo, Gavudia, Chakombero, Sabatia, Chavogere, and adjacent customers will also be impacted.
Homa Bay County is also on the list, with power set to go out from 8 AM to 4 PM in Homa Bay Town and Mbita.
The blackout will affect the whole of Homa Bay Town, as well as Hamaline, Rangwe, Imbo, Olare, Asumbi, Maliera, Mbita, Luanda, Rodi Kopany, Rusinga, Waondo, and nearby areas.
