Kenya Power has announced a series of planned electricity outages set to take place on Wednesday, May 21, as part of scheduled network maintenance.
In a statement on Tuesday evening, May 20, the company listed the areas that will be affected and the expected duration of the interruptions.
In Nairobi County, parts of Westlands and Juja Road will experience power cuts from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Affected locations in Westlands include Muthithi Road, Ojijo Road, Parkland Road, Mpesi Road, Mogotio Road, and adjacent areas.
Meanwhile, residents and businesses along part of Juja Road, covering Moi Airbase, Total and OLA petrol stations, St. Teresa School, Shell Petrol Station, and sections of Mlango Kubwa, should prepare for an all-day outage within the same timeframe.

In the Central Rift region, Nakuru County will see power outages in parts of Free Area from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
Areas to be affected include Meadows, Kwa Murogi, Baharini Nawassco Boreholes, Naka, Happy Cow, Section 58, Dog Section, Kabachia, Kisulisuli, YMCA, Ebony, Jamhuri, Menengai and Lions Schools, and surrounding neighborhoods.
In Bomet County, power will also be out from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM in Abosi, Olchobosei, Njipiship, Ndamama, Tagitech, Rongai, Emurua Dikirr, Murkan Market, Kurangurik Market, and Mogondo Market.
Uasin Gishu County in the North Rift region will experience a power outage from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Areas affected include Kitingia, Burnt Forest, Ainabkoi, and nearby locations such as Cherus, Ndungulu, Kaptega, Kapsundei, Sengalo, Chereber, Kapchorwa, Ndanai, Ngarua, Kondoo, Kapkeno, Languse, Kaptega Cheboror, and surrounding customers.

In the Western region, Kakamega County will be affected in two key areas.
Malava and Samitsi, including localities such as Khalenda, Malanga, Malichi, Kimangeti, Tumbeni, Kakoi, Kambi Mwanza, Shamberere, West Kenya Sugar Factory, Ingavira, Kambiri, and Ileho, will face power interruptions from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
Additionally, Lubao and neighboring zones including KMT Kakamega, Ebwabwa, Shinyalu, Emusala, Emukaba, Lubao Market, and Bukhaywa will be without power from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
In the South Nyanza region, Migori County will be hit with outages in two major zones.
Migori Town will be affected from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, impacting locations such as Shell and Total petrol stations, Migori Teachers Training College, Jua Kali area, ABS Bank, Life Care Hospital, Nyikendo, Magina Boosters, Migori Hospital, Oruba, Wouth Ogik, Bansi Mega, and Banana Onding Mon.
Meanwhile, Nyakwere and Rakwaro areas, including Seka, Oriang, Duga, Pala, Kendubay, Kamondia, Osodo, Kobala, Makaka, Kogweno, Oneno Nam, Nyangwete, Arosi, Pala Prisons, Oyuma, Nyakongo, Adiedo, and Omboga, will be affected between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM.
In the Mt. Kenya region, Nyeri County will face a power interruption from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM in areas such as Gichira, Kangaita, Muthinga Market, Kiangacha, Gondo, Kiriko, Kanderendu, and Eucabet.
In Embu County, the outage will affect Kavutiri, Kianjokoma, Manyatta, Mungania, Kamugere, Kathande, Rutune, Kiriari, Mbuvori, and Karuriri within the same time frame.
In the North Eastern region, parts of Kiambu County, including Komo, Jujafarm, and Magana, will be affected from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Specific areas to experience the interruption include Mukuyuini, Juja Farm Athi, Kwa Murage, Kwa Ruhi, Komo Market, Fara Inya, Munyu Girls, Githima Shopping Centre, and Magana Primary School.
