The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) officers have arrested four robbery with violence suspects, including three Ugandan nationals and a Kenyan.
In a statement on Friday May 23, DCI said the four suspects were nabbed following a security operation conducted in Nairobi's Dandora, Saika, Pumwani and Huruma estates.
During the operation, the detectives seized two pistols, an AK-47 rifle, and 50 rounds of ammunition.
“The operation conducted on Thursday, May 22, followed a spate of armed robberies reported in Nairobi and Western regions, by an organized gang whose modus operandi was analyzed by DCI's Crime Research detectives ahead of the scrupulous pursuit.
“Swinging into action, the Operation Action Team of the DCI, backed up by their counterparts at the Intelligence Bureau, launched a manhunt for each of the four suspects, successfully netting all with two pistols, an AK 47 rifle, and 50 rounds of ammunition,” read part of the statement.

The four suspects have been identified as Sipholi Sam Wafula alias Sande, Ogomba Alex, Mohammed Musa, and Wafula Clinton.
Sipholi was the first suspect to be apprehended, and upon interrogation, he led the DCI officers to his rented house within Saika, where a Falcon Pistol loaded with eleven (11) rounds of ammunition was discovered under a pillow.
Ogomba was then cornered and led the sleuths to his rented house within Dandora, where the AK47 assault rifle loaded with thirty (30) rounds was found hidden under his couch.
“Brief interrogation on the two suspects led detectives to the home of Mohammed Musa in Huruma area where he has been residing with his family. It has since been established that he is the owner of the AK47 rifle,” the DCI stated.
According to DCI, the three Ugandan nationals arrived in Kenya on May 21, 2025, through the Malaba border, having disappeared into the neighboring country after committing a violent robbery in Eastleigh.
Investigations further revealed that Wafula is the leader of the gang, leading to his arrest in Pumwani.
“He has been the master planner in all the gangs' operations. On arrest and search, the second pistol, a Palleberum Feg. 9mm loaded with nine rounds, was found tucked in his waist,” DCI added.
The four suspects had planned a robbery at a business premise at 12th Street Eastleigh, but the plan was thwarted by their arrest.
The four were handed over to DCI Starehe for processing ahead of their arraignment in court.
