Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja has elicited mixed reactions after purchasing groundnuts from a vendor inside Parliament chambers, during the ongoing public participation exercise on the BBI Bill.

The vendor identified as Beatrice Wayeko was in Parliament to make her submissions on the BBI Bill, after which she sold ground nuts to Senator Sakaja.

"What a woman!! Mama Njugu (Beatrice Wayeko) from Kawangware has made her submissions on BBI then brought me njugu. Hapo Sawa!" Sakaja tweeted.


The tweet elicited mixed reactions with a section of netizens accusing the senator of engaging in cheap public relations stunts.

A group of tweeps, however, hailed Sakaja for supporting hustlers.
