Juja Member of Parliament George Koimburi has been found dumped at a coffee farm in Kiambu County.

Koimburi, a staunch supporter of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, was found brutally beaten and left in critical condition.

The UDA MP was rushed to Plainsview Hospital near Ruiru town for medical treatment.

Koimburi was on Sunday, May 25, afternoon forcefully taken by unknown individuals outside the Full Gospel Church in Mugutha, Kiambu County.

The lawmaker was in the company of his wife, Anne Koimburi, when he was approached by two men who then hustled him into a Subaru Forester vehicle.

Koimburi’s wife sustained injuries during the incident as she tried to block her husband from being taken.

“They started hitting me from outside, and I felt as if my arm was broken. I had no choice but to let go of my husband,” Koimburi’s wife told the media.

On Friday, May 23, the Juja MP narrowly escaped being arrested after he abandoned his vehicle and used a motorcycle to flee.

The lawmaker had camped at the Gachororo Primary School grounds where he was presiding over the issuance of bursaries, when people believed to be police officers showed up.

Koimburi’s driver was later taken to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters and later released shortly after questioning.

The DCI has distanced itself from the abduction of the UDA MP however, the agency acknowledged that Koimburi has been under investigation over allegations of land fraud and possible misappropriation of Constituency Development Funds (CDF).
