Kenya Power has announced a scheduled power interruption set for Thursday that will affect several areas across Nairobi and five other regions. 

Kenya Power has announced a scheduled power interruption set for Thursday, May 29, that will affect several areas across Nairobi and five other regions. 

In a statement on Wednesday, May 28, the company said the planned outages are part of routine maintenance and network upgrades. 

In Nairobi County, residents in parts of Kileleshwa and Bogani East will be without electricity from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

Affected areas include Mandera Road, Durham Road, Gichugu Road, Gem Lane, Kandara Road, Kajanta Road, Olekajuado Road, and surrounding locations. 

In Bogani East, the outage will impact CUEA, Bogani East Road, Corrat Africa, Qwetu, and Qejani Hostels, and nearby customers.

In the Central Rift Region, multiple parts of Nakuru County, such as Elementaita, Kongasis, Oljorai, Kiambogo, and Likia, will face power cuts from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. 

Areas in Uasin Gishu County, including Chemusian, Olare, Kaplanga, and Cheplang,a will experience outages from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Meanwhile, Nandi County will see interruptions in Kipngoror and Old Chepterwai areas between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

In the South Nyanza Region, Kisii County residents in Ogembo, Kenyenya, Riokindo, and nearby areas will have power interruptions between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

In the Mt. Kenya Region, areas in Nyeri County like Mumbi, Ciaraini, Karingaini, Nyeri Polytechnic, and parts of Ring Road will have no electricity between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. 

Similarly, power will be cut in Maranjau, Kambiti, and surrounding locations. 

In Embu County, outages will affect Kyeni Hospital, Kathageri Market, and areas including Kiaragana Primary, Kegonge Boys, and Mufu Market.

In the North Eastern Region, power interruptions are expected in Tinganga and Ngemwa from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., affecting Sasini Coffee Factory, Tinganga Secondary School, and surrounding areas.

In the Coast Region, parts of Kwale County, including Samburu Town, Kinagoni, and Mwakijembe, will be affected by the outage between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
