Kenya Power has announced scheduled power interruptions across six counties on Friday, May 30, as part of its ongoing network maintenance and system upgrade efforts.
In a statement on Thursday, May 29, the company said the planned outages are expected to last several hours, affecting various areas in Trans Nzoia, Uasin Gishu, Nandi, Kakamega, Kisii, Murang’a, and Kilifi counties.
In Trans Nzoia County, residents of Bikeke and Alakara will be without power from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The blackout will affect several institutions and neighborhoods, including Bikeke Boys, Bikeke Girls, Area 51, Maili, Machungwa, Wehoya, Musemwa, Alakara, Meru Farm7, Misemwa, and Nyakinywa.
Similarly, in Uasin Gishu County, Chepkuurmum and Usalama areas will experience outages between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., affecting Tinga, Karungu, Kipkabus Tech, Leltot, and Baharini.

Nandi County will also see interruptions in New Chepterwai and Singilet from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
In the Western region, parts of Kakamega County will also experience a day-long blackout.
Affected areas include Musoli Market, Akatsa Market, Bukura College, Sigalagala Polytechnic, llesi Market, and Khaega Market.
In Kisii County, power will be off from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in parts of Nyamataro and Embassy.
The blackout will affect Nyabururu Complex, Prof. Nyasani area, Kanunda, Chokom, Kiamwasi, Soko Primary and Secondary Schools, Cardinal Otunga Complex, Mosocho, Ongicha, and Matieko Complex.
In the Mt. Kenya region, Murang’a County is set to experience interruptions, particularly in Githingiri and Thika Greens.
Affected locations include the entire Githingiri and Thika Greens estates, Thika Green Golf Club, Thika Sports Club, KALRO, KARI, Carton Manufacturer, and Mugumo Farm.
In the Coast region, parts of Kilifi County will be affected.
Rabai Secondary, Mwache, and surrounding areas such as Rabai Slaughter, Peleleza, Mwache Quarry, and Mwache Dam will be without power from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
