Activist Boniface Mwangi has spoken out after visiting Rose Njeri at Pangani Police Station where she is currently being held.
Njeri was arrested earlier this week in connection with the creation of an anti-Finance Bill website.
Speaking on Sunday, June 1, Mwangi disclosed that Njeri was in high spirits, further detailing how she was arrested.
“She is in high spirits; she misses her babies, and she has two kids. When the police arrested her, they went to her house, ransacked the house, and the police took away her hard drives and computer," he said.

Mwangi described the circumstances of Njeri’s arrest as excessive, questioning the need for such a heavy-handed police response.
"She's a small lady even in terms of her size, but when she was arrested, she was arrested by 15 police officers, and they told her they were investigating her for creating the website,” he added.
According to Mwangi, efforts to secure Njeri’s release have so far been unsuccessful.
"We have spoken with the station's OCS and OCPD, but they have said they don't have the power to release her; the police claim that they are just providing custody, and the matter is with the DCI. The only person who can order her release is DCI Director Amin Mohamed," he further said.
