Kenya Power has announced planned electricity interruptions across Nairobi and five other counties on Wednesday, June 4.

In a statement released on Tuesday, June 3, the utility company said the scheduled power outages will affect selected areas in Nairobi, Nyandarua, Uasin Gishu, Nyamira, Kiambu, and Mombasa counties.

In the Nairobi region, parts of Jacaranda will experience power interruptions from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

Affected areas include Jacaranda Estate, Greenspan Mall, parts of Donholm Phase 8, Edavale School, and surrounding customers.

In Nyandarua County, power will be cut in two main regions. 

Olkalou Town and surrounding estates, including Kianda, Huruma, Banker's Estate, and JM Hospital, will be without power from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

The Magumu and Kenton areas, including Flyover, Matches, Muchrue, Ihendu, and Viewpoint Magumu, will also be affected during the same hours.

In Uasin Gishu County, Lugari Station and Mufutu, along with nearby institutions like Lugari Boys’, will face an extended outage from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

In Nyamira County, residents in parts of Ikonge and Ekerenyo, particularly those around local markets, schools, and hospitals, will experience outages from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Several locations in Kiambu County will also be affected. 

Kahawa Wendani and Kahawa Sukari Estates, including areas around Kenyatta University, China Square, Shell, and major supermarkets, will be off-grid from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

Maryhill Girls and Eagards Farm will experience early morning to evening outages. 

Areas around Makwa, Kairi, and Gakui, including Makwa Boys and local coffee factories, are also on the maintenance schedule. 

Power supply will also be interrupted in Inyuu and Kwa Amutel, covering several villages and trading centers.

In Mombasa County, part of Bombolulu, including Bohora Flats, Sheikh Khalifa Secondary School, and NITA, will be without power from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
