The National Youth Service (NYS) has announced 60 fabrication jobs for its graduates in Dubai, UAE.

In a notice on Wednesday, June 4, NYS said a leading Fabrication company based in Dubai, dealing with steel, structural, and industrial fabrication and pipe work for ship repair and Rig up, has opportunities for NYS-trained Fabricators who are keen on developing their skills overseas.

The National Youth Service Employment Liaison Office is thrilled to inform you about job opportunities in Dubai, UAE, for trained fabricators. This is your chance to work with top employers, gain international experience, and earn a salary,” NYS stated.

The roles of the fabricators will include designing, developing, and implementing fabrication processes and procedures; creating and maintaining detailed technical documentation; and reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout and placement of steel structures and reinforcing bars.

Other responsibilities include measuring and cutting steel bars to the required lengths using tools such as shears, torches, and saws; bending and shaping steel bars using hand tools and machines; and securing steel bars in concrete forms using wire clips or welds.

Fabricators will also be responsible for installing steel structures and reinforcing bars per specifications and safety standards, and collaborating with design engineers to optimize designs for manufacturability.

To qualify for the jobs, one must be a NYS graduate, have a Diploma/Trade certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field is essential for foundational knowledge and must have completed a course in Welding and Fabrication, Mechanical Engineering (Production), or any Metal fabrication related course.

The applicants should also have excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, to collaborate effectively with a diverse team, be able to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and have a passport.

“Candidates meeting the job requirements will be contacted for practical tests (interviews) at the National Youth Service Engineering Institute on Thursday, 12th June,2025,” NYS stated.

Successful applicants will earn a monthly salary of Ksh51,087 while in the UAE.

The employment period is two years, with the possibility of renewal. Successful applicants will receive a monthly food allowance of Ksh12,300.

In addition, the employer will provide accommodation, transportation, and medical insurance.
