2 vehicles were burnt in Nairobi CBD as protestors took to the streets over the death of Albert Ojwang.

The vehicles were parked outside shops within the CBD along Aga Khan Walk.

In the incident that occurred on Thursday, June 12, the two vehicles were completely destroyed.

Police are yet to establish those responsible for the act, as the videos did not capture how the fire started.

Consequently, anti-riot police were deployed to contain the protestors who were demanding the resignation of Deputy Inspector General of Police Eliud Lagat.


Lagat was the complainant against Albert Ojwang following various posts he had made on social media.

Protestors were demanding that the police boss step down and allow for the investigations into the death of Ojwang to be conducted.

Meanwhile, revealed that Lagat would be summoned in due course as they seek to establish facts surrounding the death of the teacher.

"Our technical team stated that they would have preferred to take statements from all the police men before they can confront him, being the final person who made the complaint," Hassan stated.

"I think it is much better that way."
