Suba North Member of Parliament Millie Odhiambo has raised an alarm after another man died while in police custody.
In a statement on Sunday, June 15, Odhiambo claimed that a man identified as Calvince Omondi Onditi mysteriously died in a police cell.
The ODM MP said the police have claimed that Onditi committed suicide inside the cell.
“These deaths in police cells cannot go on. Albert Ojwang's case is not solved; they have now killed Mr. Onditi from Ndhuru, in my constituency. Yet another death in Homabay County. Then they are giving the stupid story of suicide yet again,” Odhiambo stated.
The incident comes a week after Voi-based teacher Albert Ojwang died while in police custody at Central Police Station in Nairobi.

Ojwang was arrested in Homa Bay County and transported to Nairobi over allegations of publishing defamatory statements against Deputy Inspector General of Police Eliud Lagat.
The National Police Service (NPS) had initially claimed that the teacher died after allegedly banging his head against a wall.
However, an autopsy conducted by Pathologist Bernard Midia revealed Ojwang died as a result of a head injury and neck compressions.
"The cause of death is very clear. A head injury, neck compression, and we also have other injuries on other parts of the body that are pointing towards assault. When you combine all the injuries in the body, they are consistent with a struggle," Midia said.
On Friday, June 13, another man allegedly died after committing suicide while in police custody at Katito Police Station in Kisumu County.
The deceased had been arrested by the area chief for the offence of stock theft and brought to the station.
However, hours later, the man was found hanging from the cell door grill using a vest.
