Taming Covid
Kenya officially announced a third wave of the COVID-19 outbreak last week during President Uhuru Kenyatta's update on the 2021 Revised Covid-19 containment measures.
President Kenyatta on Friday extended the 10pm to 4am curfew by two months and the ban on political rallies by 30 days in the wake of a spike in Covid-19 infections in the country.
Funerals and cremation ceremonies were restricted to a maximum of 100 people and will be conducted within 72 hours after confirmation of death.
Places of worship were also directed to have a maximum of one-third of their capacities per gathering.
Uhuru noted that political gatherings are super-spreaders of the respiratory disease leading to the decision to ban them as the nation grapples with a spike in infections.
