The United States of America has sanctioned the construction of a simulation facility at the Kenya Army School of Infantry in Isiolo County.
The establishment is expected to cost the US government Ksh438 million.
The project which will be undertaken in partnership with the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) will improve training for the 3,000 army recruits who train at the school each year.
Kenya Army School of Infantry will benefit from the programme, undertaken as part of the US's commitment to support the institution.

This project is part of the US's commitment to strengthen and broaden security ties with Kenya by adequately training KDF soldiers prior to deployment.
US Army Southern European Task Force, Africa Commander Major General Andrew Rohling stated that US was committed to enhancing Kenya's fight against terrorism and piracy.
"I am proud of the work the US Army has done to assist the KDF, and I look forward to the future opportunities that will build upon our long-standing partnership," Rohling stated.
The training facility comes at a time when Kenya is the leading contributor of troops to the Africa Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM), on the forefront in the fight against the Al Shabaab.
