The section of the road will be closed from Friday, June 20, at 10:00 p.m. to Saturday, June 21, at 6:00 a.m. and from Saturday, 10:00 p.m. to Sunday, June 22, at 6:00 a.m.

The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced a temporary traffic disruption along Mombasa Road near the Syokimau Railway Station this coming weekend.

In a notice on Wednesday, June 18, KeNHA said the section of the road will be closed from Friday, June 20, at 10:00 pm to Saturday, June 21, at 6:00 am and from Saturday, 10:00 pm to Sunday, June 22, at 6:00 am.

“The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) wishes to notify the public that a section of Mombasa Road (A8) near Syokimau Railway Station will experience traffic disruption along the Nairobi bound carriageway from Friday, 20th June, 2025 at 10.00 pm to Saturday, 21st June, 2025 at 6.00 am, and from Saturday, 21st June, 2025 at 10.00 pm to Sunday, 22nd June, 2025 at 6.00 am,” the KeNHA read in part.

The authority noted that the temporary traffic disruption will allow for the installation of the fabricated footbridge beams of the Syokimau Railway Footbridge.

KeNHA urged motorists to follow the proposed traffic management plan to reach their destinations.

The authority further called on Motorists to cooperate with the police officers and traffic marshals who will be on site.

“KeNHA advises motorists to follow the proposed traffic management plan below and cooperate with the police and traffic marshals on site,” KeNHA added.

This comes days after the authority temporarily closed a section of Mombasa Road near Naivas JKIA to allow the installation of fabricated footbridge beams.

“The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) wishes to notify the public that a section of Mombasa Road (A8) near Naivas JKIA will experience traffic disruption along the Mombasa bound Service lanes from Saturday, 14th June, 2025 at 9.00 pm to Sunday, 15th June, 2025 at 10.00 am,” KeNHA stated.
