President William Ruto has convened a Cabinet retreat at the KCB management centre in Karen, Nairobi.
In a statement on Thursday, June 19, the Head of Creative Economy and Special Projects in the Office of the President, Dennis Itumbi, said the retreat is also a midterm review for the executive.

The retreat brings together Cabinet Secretaries and senior officials in the executive, including Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, Principal Secretaries, and President Ruto’s advisers.

“The 3rd Retreat and Mid Term Review for the National Executive - CSs and Senior Ranks of the Executive is ongoing at KCB Management Karen,” Itumbi stated.

The two-day retreat is aimed at addressing the country’s slowing economy and rising unemployment.
The Day 1 program of the retreat, seen by Nairobileo, indicates that President Ruto, DP Kindiki, Chief of Staff Felix Koskei, and Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi are scheduled to deliver addresses.

Chairperson of the President’s Council of Economic Advisors, David Ndii, and Deputy Head of Public Service, Amos Gathecha, are also expected to speak at the retreat.
This is the third cabinet retreat President Ruto has convened since he came to office in September 2022.

The Head of State held the first Cabinet retreat at the Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club in Nanyuki in January 2023.
The second retreat was convened by President Ruto in February 2024 in Naivasha, Nakuru County.
