Kenya Power has issued a notice announcing scheduled power interruptions across four counties on Tuesday, June 24.

In a statement on Monday, June 23, the company cited routine maintenance as the reason for the outages, which are expected to affect specific regions in Machakos, Homa Bay, Tharaka Nithi, and Kwale counties. 

In the Nairobi region, parts of Machakos County will be without electricity from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Areas affected include Kilimambogo, Donyo Sabuk Market, Kenya Wildlife Service facilities, the KPLC Repeater Station at Summit, St. Damiano, Kantara, Nzambani, and Kyeleni. 

Donyo Sabuk Resort, Kitini, Delmonte Workshop, Kwetu Farm, Uamani Village, Kwa Mwaura Market, Kwa Mulinga, Kitambasye, Kayatta, Ngunga, and parts of Ngoliba Market, along with nearby customers, will also be affected.

In the South Nyanza region, the whole of Rusinga Island in Homa Bay County will experience a power outage between 9:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.  

The affected areas include Waware, Nyamuga, Wanyama, Kaswanga, Litare, Luore, Tom Mboya Mausoleum, Sienga, and surrounding regions.  

Additionally, the Asumbi area in Homa Bay will also have an outage from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., affecting Rabuor Masawa, Arujo, Maguti, Ogandi, Wiga, parts of Rodi, Imbo, Rangwe, Oluso, Sinogo, Asumbi Complex, Koyoo, Namba, Nyawita, Ojinyo, Omoya, Ndiru, Ohero, Masakla, and Obuya Dispensary.

In the Mt. Kenya region, parts of Tharaka Nithi County will face a blackout from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. 

Affected areas include Mitheru, Magundu, Kiini, Magundu Village, Karimba, Kaganjo, Iriani Village, Mitheru Market, Ikame, and surrounding customers.

Meanwhile, in the Coast region, Samburu Town and its environs in Kwale County will experience a power interruption from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

Areas set to be affected include Samburu Town, Vigurungani, Banga, Mwakijembe, Kinagoni, Silaloni, and adjacent areas.
