The Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) has flagged an advert circulating on social media announcing over 700 job vacancies in the authority.
In a statement on Sunday, July 6, KURA said the advert was fake and urged members of the public to disregard it.
The authority also called on Kenyans to always verify jobs on the official KURA website, and social media, or to directly contact the authority.
“Fake job alert. A fake job advert is circulating in some media outlets. Please disregard it as it does not originate from KURA. Always verify via our official website, social media, or contact [email protected], 0717 105 233 / 0202722222,” KURA stated.
The clarification comes months after KURA flagged another advert announcing jobs in the authority.

The fake announcement claimed that KURA was seeking to fill over 500 positions in the authority.
“Our attention has been drawn to a fraudulent job advertisement circulating in certain media outlets, We wish to clarify that this advert is fake and does not originate from us. We strongly advise the public to disregard the misleading information and always verify official communications through our official website, social media platforms, or email,” KURA said on March 8.
In recent years, fraudsters have increasingly targeted desperate job seekers in Kenya to swindle them through fake job opportunities in well-known companies and agencies.
