Kenya Power has announced scheduled power interruptions in select areas of Nairobi and the Central Rift Region on Wednesday, July 9.

In a statement on Tuesday, July 8, the company said the interruptions are meant to allow for essential power maintenance.

Kenya Power stated that the planned outages will affect parts of Nairobi County, specifically Westlands, as well as sections of Kajiado and Nyeri counties.

Parts of Westlands, including Muthithi Square Development Ltd, NSSF, Westpark, UNGA House, Muthithi Road, and surrounding areas, will experience a power interruption from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

In Kitengela, electricity supply will be disrupted from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., affecting Saitoti Hospital and neighboring customers.

Several areas in Nyeri County will also be affected by the maintenance exercise.

Kiawara, Lamuria, Bellevue, Kabendera, Ruirie, Kariminu, Tanyai, Nairutia, Mugunda, Ngobit, Kariguini, Mahiga Meru, and Matopeni are set to experience outages from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Areas to be affected also include Tetu Boys, Tetu Girls, Kagunduini Market, Karuga Iratho, parts of Gitathini, Njambi Place, and the Safaricom Booster at Kagunduini.

Additionally, Kahiga Market, Kahiga Secondary School, Kahiga Dispensary, Kahiga Village, and nearby telecom booster stations will be affected from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
