Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Deputy Party leader Godfrey Osotsi on Tuesday led a group of ODM Members of Parliament into a meeting with United Russia Party (URP) officials at the party headquarters in Moscow, Russia.

In a statement on Wednesday, July 16, ODM said the lawmakers were hosted by Andrey Klimov, who is a member of the Supreme Council of the URP party.

Klimov also serves as the Deputy Chairperson of the Federal Council's Committee on Foreign Relations. 

“Deputy Party Leader Sen. Godfrey Osotsi yesterday led a group of party members of parliament into a consultative meeting with officials of the United Russia Party (URP) at the party headquarters in Moscow, Russia.

“They were hosted by Mr. Andrey Klimov, Member of the Supreme Council of the Party and also the Deputy Chairperson of the Federal Council's Committee on foreign relations,” read the statement in part.

During the meeting, ODM and URP officials held bilateral talks on cooperation between the two parties and how they can work together in strengthening political party diplomacy.

Senator Osotsi also presented a message of goodwill from the ODM party leader, Raila Odinga, to the leadership of the URP party.

Among the ODM lawmakers in the meeting were Siaya Senator Oburu Odinga, Rarieda MP Otiende Amollo, and Kitengela ward MCA Paul Matuyia.

“The meeting was one of the activities on the sidelines of the visit by Kenyan Legislators to Russia,” ODM added.
