Naivasha Member of Parliament (MP) Jayne Kihara has lamented the night spent in a cell, terming the unfolding events as her political climax.
Speaking outside Milimani Law Courts on Friday, July 18, Jayne thanked people for their support but declined to comment on the ongoing case in which she is accused of uttering peace-breaching statements.
"I have never slept in a cell before. I have never been booked. I'm at my political climax, so if anyone thinks they can shut me up, they can forget it," she stated.
The MP also warned President Ruto, pointing fingers at his allies, like Member of Parliament for Kikuyu Constituency Kimani Ichungw'ah, whom she accused of insulting her.
"With Ichungw’ah around you. You need no other enemy," the MP stated. "He insulted me. Told me to act my age."

According to court documents presented by lawyer Ndegwa Njiru, the MP faces charges over remarks she made during a public event in Nairobi on July 8. Prosecutors say her comments were meant to cause public disorder.
The controversial statements included claims that hired thugs were brought to her constituency using National Youth Service vehicles to disrupt ongoing demonstrations.
On Thursday, July 17, DCI detectives raided her residence after she allegedly ignored an official summons.
Sources privy to the investigation revealed that Kihara had been formally invited to appear before investigators but chose not to comply with the directive.
The arrest became a trending topic when the MP chose to broadcast the entire incident live on social media.
She demanded proper documentation and insisted on following proper legal procedures before agreeing to go with the officers.
During Friday's court session, Kihara failed to take a plea on her charges as the judicial process requires a preliminary ruling on whether the accusations are valid.
The next hearing date is July 29, 2025.
