Former Chief Justice David Maraga has revealed that he has raised more than Ksh500,000 through his website davidmaraga.com in two days.
Speaking on Monday, July 21, Maraga said Kenyans living in the diaspora have also contributed to his campaign kitty.
The former CJ noted that the funds are a clear sign that Kenyans are backing him ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“We have set up a website, and within two days in Kenya, we have received more than Ksh500,000. Those in the diaspora have also contributed in dollars. That tells you that Kenyans want change,” he said.
On Tuesday, July 16, Maraga disclosed that he will rely on contributions from Kenyans to fund his 2027 presidential campaign.

The former Chief Justice expressed confidence that Kenyans will contribute to his campaign kitty.
“We will require a substantial amount of money. We are going to appeal to Kenyans to contribute to our campaign, and it is going to succeed. Kenyans will themselves fund this election,” said Maraga.
He revealed that he plans to contribute between Ksh1 million and Ksh2 million to his campaign.
“I will put in very little money, Ksh1 million or Ksh2 million, I don't have much money," he said.
Further, Maraga said Kenyans can contribute as low as Ksh50 to his campaign kitty and that the funds will be largely used for grassroots mobilization, town hall meetings, digital outreach and communication, and to build a nationwide network of supporters.
