The Ministry of Health on Friday announced 28 Covid-19 deaths in the last 24 hours, the highest number since the first case was announced in March 2020.
The death toll has now risen to 1,982 in the country.
Addressing the press, Health CAS Mercy Mwangangi confirmed 1,354 new Covid-19 cases from 7,732 samples tested in the last 24 hours. The country's caseload now stands at 118,889.
“From the 1,354 cases, 1,301 are Kenyans while 53 are foreigners. 719 are male while 535 are female with the youngest being a 7-month old infant and the eldest being 100 years old,” Dr. Mwangangi announced.

185 patients have recovered from the disease, out of which 136 are from home-based care while 49 were discharged from various hospitals across the country. Total recoveries now stand at 89,388.
The Ministry of Health has urged Kenyans to take more caution and follow the Covid-19 regulations to curb the rapid spread.
