Football Kenya Federation (FKF) President Hussein Mohammed has dismissed reports suggesting that Macdonald Mariga has been secretly removed from his position as Vice President of the federation.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, July 22, Mohammed termed the claims as ‘misinformation’ and urged the public to disregard the social media reports.
He emphasized that FKF operates within the confines of its constitution and remains focused on developing football in the country.
"Kindly disregard misinformation circulating on social media. FKF is an institution guided by its constitution, which we strictly adhere to,” the FKF boss posted on his official social media pages. “Our focus remains on delivering a successful CHAN 2024 and raising the standards of Kenyan football."
Mohammed's statement follows growing speculation online that Mariga had been quietly removed from his role and replaced by FKF National Executive Committee (NEC) member Abdalla Yusuf.

The viral post alleged that the move was part of a broader internal power struggle to eventually force out head coach Benni McCarthy.
"Abdalla Yusuf, an NEC member, is the new FKF Vice President after Legend Macdonald Mariga was secretly removed. The target is Benni McCarthy; they want to remove him by sabotage. KENYA football is in for a rough ride,” read part of the unverified report widely shared on social media.
