Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has urged the suspects involved in the brutal murder of Catholic priest Fr. Allois Bett to surrender to authorities as police intensify their manhunt.
Speaking on Friday, July 25, Murkomen revealed that security officers are hot on the trail of the suspects, some of whom are still at large and in hiding.
"Security officers are pursuing the remaining criminals that are still giving us problems; they are in hiding but the police officers and security teams know where they are and in the fullness of time they will be arrested," he said.
Murkomen urged the suspects to present themselves to the nearest police station instead of engaging in confrontations that could turn fatal.
"I'd like to extend an olive branch to all those suspects that are being pursued to take the shortest time possible to present themselves before police officers; that is the safest way they can be processed through a court of law.

"As they continue engaging the police officers, that kind of engagement may lead to loss of life and it is important for them to surrender as early as possible so that we process them through a court of law and ensure that people who have suffered find justice," he added.
At the same time, Murkomen appealed to young people who possess guns, whether or not they were involved in recent violent acts, to surrender the arms.
He offered a rehabilitation route, promising opportunities in the government’s initiatives, including the Affordable Housing Program.
"We are also extending an olive branch to all young people who have guns; they may have not participated in the recent raids and killing of people but if you know that you have a firearm we are giving you an opportunity in the shortest time possible to present yourself before police officers.
"I'm ready to work with relevant agencies to take you to a technical college and take you to a construction site to go and build in their Affordable Housing Program," he stated.
