Kenya Power Announces Power Interruptions in 6 Counties on Monday

Kenya Power has announced scheduled power interruptions across six counties on Monday, July 28, as part of planned maintenance activities.

In a statement on Sunday, July 27, the company said the outages are expected to affect multiple regions in Bomet, Nandi, Nyamira, Kiambu, Nyeri, and Meru counties.

In Bomet County, the outage will occur between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM. 

Affected areas include Bomet Town, Kaboson, Tenwek, Merigi, Longisa, Mulot, Bomet Water, Kyogong, Sachora, Olbutyo, Siongiroi, Kapoleseroi, Chelelach, Chebwostuiyet, Kimaiya, Bingwa, Kataret, Chebunyo, Labotiet, Tenwek Hosp, Emarti, Chepalungu TTI and Fairmount Hotel.

Ntulele, Lalela, Kabolecho, Kiprturgut, Kapkulumben, Tilangok, Mogor, Lelbarak, Kiproroget, Zebra, Silibwet, Tenwek Hosp and Mkt, Motigo tea factory, Tenwek CTC, Njerian, Stregro tea factory and Sot Technical will also ne affected.

Additionally, Masese, Mugango, Saoset, Kitoben, Kapsio, Kabungut, Chepkosa, Meja, Kapkwen, Tarakwa, Kapmusa, Likia, Kaplele, Makimeny, Mabema, Kimatisio, Osama, Saunet, Brevan hotel, County assembly, Bomet stage, KCB, Equity, National Bank and Bomet police station will also experience the outage.

Further, Kipchimat, Bomet prison, Twiggz hotel, Sachora Market, Youth farmers, Longisa hospital, Longisa Mkt, Fair hills hotel, Mulot Mkt, Kembu, Kapkimworwa quarry, Olngoswet, Chemaner, Kimuchul, Greenfield tea factory, Kisyet tea factory, Kutete Mkt, Tegat, Kiprturgut, Olmenani, Laluk and adjacent customers will also be affected.

In Nandi County, the power will be off from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM in Enego, Kimaren and adjacent customers.

In Nyamira County, the outage will also run from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM in Tombe, Kemera, Manga, Tombe tea factory, Gachuba, Omogonchoro, Nyambaria Sec Sch, Miriri, Magombo, Rigoma, Bigogo, Morako, Kiabiraa, Nyaisa and adjacent customers.

In Kiambu County, power will be interrupted from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM in Chief Koinange Girls, Valentine Growers, Willopark Apartment, Mugumoini Pri Sch, Raini Water Pump, Part of Senior Chief Koinange Girls and adjacent customers.

In Nyeri County, the outage will occur from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Affected areas include Kiamwathi, Giakanja, Ruringu Stadium, Kiamwathi Mkt, Chorong’i Coffee Factory, Magua, Miberethi, Giakanja Sec and Mkt, Kiunyu, Ikumbo and adjacent customers.

In Meru County, power will be interrupted from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM in Igoji, Kinoro, Kathigu, Igoji Teachers Training College, Igoji Mission Hospital, Kinoro Tea Factory, Kinoro Mkt, Miruriri Sec Sch, Igoji Mkt, Nkugwe Village, Kuiri, Kiriti, Rai and Rigiri Coffee Factories. 

Geeto Pri, Kiune Pri Sch, Gatangungi Mkt, Kaira Mkt, Moaa TBC, Kathigu Mkt, Mworoga, Pioneer Education Centre, PCEA Mbuti Church, KARI Centre, Kathigiri Pri Sch, Plot10, Gikurune Boys, Igoji Boys, Rwarene Pri Sch, Mweru Mkt, Kithioko and adjacent customers will also experience the power interruption.
