President Ruto's visit to Homa Bay County coincides with the Devolution Conference 2025, a significant gathering that brings together county and national government leaders to discuss the future of devolved governance in Kenya.
The conference theme centers on ‘equity, inclusion, and social justice’ in development and service delivery.
According to Ahmed Abdullahi, EGH, Chairman of the Council of Governors, the gathering addresses critical national challenges.
"This year, we focus on equity, inclusion, and social justice- in development and in service delivery," Governor Abdullahi stated. "Our country is grappling with unequal resource distribution, economic imbalances, and social exclusion of vulnerable populations."
The conference agenda examines how County Governments, in collaboration with the National Government, can expand the economy to accommodate young people, improve accessibility and availability of healthcare, education, housing, and other public goods, and eliminate poverty and existing systemic vulnerabilities.
