Kenya Power has announced scheduled power outages across Nairobi and eight other counties on Thursday, August 14.

In a statement on Wednesday, August 13, the company said the power Interruptions are meant to allow maintenance work.

In Nairobi, parts of Jogoo Road, including Jogoo Transformer from Likoni roundabout, Buru Buru Phase 5, Makadara Law Courts, Uhuru Market, and adjacent areas, will experience power disruptions from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

Meanwhile, Nasra, Kayole, and Spine Road, including Mama Lucy Hospital, Naivas Supermarket, Nasra Estate, Sosioni Estate, and nearby customers, will be affected between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Parts of Kisii County, including Gesusu, Masimba, Nyayo Ward, Kiomiti, Geteri, Riochungo, and other adjacent areas, will be without power from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

In Nyeri County, areas around Kiamuturi and Kairo, including Kiamuturi Market, Hon. JJ Kamotho Farm, Kairo Market, Kamagogo Market, Kasarani, and Magomano, will be affected from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Tharaka Nithi residents in Kathwana and Ciakariga, including Kathwana Market, County Headquarters, Kajiampu, Komarock Hospital, Matiri Market, Kamarandi, St. Osora, Kithiori, Nkururuni, and Marimanti Prison, will face outages between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. 

In Kiambu County, power will be interrupted in areas such as Bypass Kamakis, Greenspot, and Versity Ville, covering local markets, residential estates, petrol stations, and adjacent customers, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Parts of Kitui County, including Ngengeka and Kalikuvu, will experience cuts from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., affecting Ngengeka Market, Kavuta, Mangina Market, and surrounding areas. 

Similarly, residents in Samburu areas of Kwale County, including Samburu Town, Vigurungani, Banga, Mwakijembe, Kinagoni, and Silaloni, will be affected during the same hours.

In Tana River County, power will be unavailable in Mlilo, Ngongodinyi, and Voi, including Kariokor, Mwakingali, Juakali, and Bondeni, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

Parts of Nyali West in Mombasa County, covering Engen, Orchid, Vapco, Jocham, Government Chemist, Magongoni, Arkshandam Apartments, Mishomoroni, Kadongo, Kisauni, Mialeo, Barsheba, Hongera, and surrounding customers, will also experience outages from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
