Kenya Power Announces Power Outages in 3 Counties on Sunday

Kenya Power has announced scheduled power interruptions in Machakos, Nakuru, and Mombasa counties on Sunday, August 17.

In a statement on Saturday, August 16, the company said the outages are necessary to facilitate maintenance works.

In the Nairobi region, parts of Machakos County will be affected. 

Supply will be cut off between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. in Joska, Mutalia, Kware, Malaa, Kantafu, KBC, Koma, Sunshine, Kinanie Leather Industries, Bridgan, Ngalaya, Kwa Makau and Quick Mart Joska.

Kaseveni, Itere Road, Nimrod, Nguluni, and all quarries and crushers at Mussini and adjacent areas will also be affected.

The outage will also cover Tala town and its environs, including East Mart Tala, Tala Market, Kyamulendu, Katine, Kisukioni, Tala Ridge, Tala Boys, Kwa Mutula, Sengani, Kinyui, Kyanzavi, Matuu Ma Mwitu, Katulye, Kyumbuni, Ngalalya Market, Wendano, Kathithyama, Katwanya, and nearby customers. 

Kangundo and surrounding areas such as Kangundo Hospital, Kakuyuni, Santhi, Mukukuni, Kasyulya Ngove, Kawethei, Mbusyani, Kyavaluki, Kikomba Market, Mukuyni, Kivaani Market, Kithuiani Market, Kambusu, and Kikambuani will also be without power during the same period.

In Nakuru County, the Central Rift region will see parts of Naivasha experience a shutdown between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. 

Affected areas include Fai Amarillo, Lower and Upper Kayole, Laini, Nyamathi, Kinungi, Roka Industries, Keroche Brewery, Kinamba, Maraigushu, Nyondia, Karate, Gatamaiyu, Livewire and NYS.

Other affected areas include DCK, Fish Eagle Inns, Oserian, Nyakinyua Farm, Kongoni, Sulmac, Goldsmith, Maela, Home Grown, Vegpro, Naivasha County Club, Ndabibi, Kamuta Farm, Biojule, and neighboring customers.

Along the Coast, Mombasa County residents in Shanzu and Bamburi will face power interruptions from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

The blackout will affect the entire Shanzu area, Bamburi Special Products, Serena, Flamingo, Shimo la Tewa schools, Sunset Paradise, Pride Inn Paradise, Braeburn School and Shanzu Beach Homes.

Shanzu Law Courts, Shanzu TTC, Whitesands, Severine, Plaza Beach, Nyali Plaza, Bombolulu Estate, Majaoni, Utange, Kiembeni, Mtopanga, and surrounding neighborhoods will also be affected.
