Kenya Power has announced power interruptions across several parts of the country, including Nairobi and Kiambu counties, on Tuesday.

Kenya Power has announced power interruptions across several parts of the country, including Nairobi and Kiambu counties, on Tuesday, August 19.

In a statement on Monday, August 18, the company said the outages are meant to allow maintenance works.

In Nairobi, outages will affect parts of Loresho from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., including Lower Kabete Road up to Hillview Estate, Loresho Ridge, Shanzu Road, Nairobi School, Kibagare Way, Kyuna Road and adjacent customers. 

Githurai will also be without power from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., affecting Githurai 44 around Sonic, Zimmerman around Roysambu Primary School, Jacaranda Gardens and surrounding areas.

In Makueni County, Sultan Hamud Town, Sultan Sub-County Hospital, Major Muiu Quarry, Kavuthu Market, Kasikeu Market, Barazani Market, Nduluni Market and nearby customers will be affected from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Busia County will see power interruptions in Busia Town and Malaba between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. 

Areas to be affected include Amairo, KPLC Offices, Okimaru, Malaba Market, Adongosi, Lugoris, Tesia Bakery, Busia Prisons, Khetias Supermarket, Halupe University and adjacent customers.

In Kakamega County, Musoli area will face outages within the same time frame, affecting Shirere Market, Ilesi, Muraka, Mukumu Mission, Malaika Children Home, Shabane, Shitoli Water, Sigalagala Polytechnic, Musing High, Malinya, Shibwe, Imbale, Bushianga, Akatsa and nearby areas.

Kiambu County will have outages around Gatundu Hospital and parts of Kenyatta Road from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

Affected areas include Kamau Muigai, Chuka Village, Mutomo Primary, Kenyatta’s Residence, Githaruru, Gatundu High, Mararo Village, KPLC Offices, Gatundu Water, Tembo Feeds, Mbunje, Gatundu Hospital, Gatundu Market, St. Jude Hospital and Muthiga Girls. 

Gatundu Technical, Mukinyi Market, Muthiga Coffee Factory, PCEA Marima, Ituru High, Muthurumbi High, 2010 Village, Gaithece, Wamwangi Market, Karabara Village, Kamunyu A & B Villages, Githuya Village and surrounding customers will also be affected.

In Kitui County, Tseikuru Market and surrounding areas including Kakoongo, Kora, Mivukoni, Tseikuru, Kaningo, Usueni, Kamisiliu, Mikauni, Wikithuki, Mamamalia, Kaivairya, Masyungwa, Ivonangya, Katse, Kimangao, Mbangwani, Muvinge, Mikwa and adjacent customers will be affected.

Mombasa County will also experience interruptions from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Ronald Ngala Road and surrounding areas including Buxton, MM Shah, Railways Club, Bridge Hotel, Blooming Birds Academy, JCC Church, Shell Ronald Ngala, Naivas Tudor, High Life and Petro. 

Mkomani and English Point will also be affected, including part of Fidel Odinga Road, Chandarana Ask Showground Tamarind, Captain Andy, English Point, Mama Ngina Drive, Crescent Homes, Palm Investment, Greenwood Drive, Jomo Kenyatta Road and nearby customers.

In Kilifi County, parts of Malindi will face interruptions, affecting Baricho Water, Kakoneni Town, Jilore, Kakoneni Secondary School, Pishi Mwenga and adjacent customers.

Migori County will also have outages in Ayego and Thim Lich areas including Chunge, Koduogo, Oria Market, Nyambeche, Thim Lich, Nyaroya, Kambuji Center and adjacent customers.

In Kirinyaga County, Majengo, Mugamba and Ciura areas will be affected from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., covering parts of Manjengo, PIAI, Estana Hotel, PK Njuguna, Rogoi Market and ACK, Mugamba Ciura, Murinduko Village and Secondary School and Togonye Market.

St. Susan, Kariati, Kadawa, Gold, Mumbu Market, Itangi, South Ngariama, Ikurungu Market, Ikurungu Hospital, Morgan, Skai Sana, Gathigini Primary and adjacent customers will also be affected.

Meru County will also be impacted with outages in Chaaria and Nkabune areas from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Affected areas include Igoki Dispensary, Mutea Iringo, Kiringo Boys High School, Kathuri Market, Nkabune Girls High School, Nkabune TTC, Ngugwe, Gugwe Coffee Factory, Ntani Primary School, and Kanjagi Market.

Other areas to be affected include Karimuga Primary School, Karimautine Primary School, Runywene Primary School, Gaitu Market, Gaitu Police Station, Nkuene Primary School, Kaguma Market, Chaaria Market, Mbanjone Market, Ruchoro, Cottolengo Mission Hospital, Nguucia, Kaare Market, Sarovina, Njuthine, Gacuru and surrounding areas.
